Ron’s primary focus is providing patient centered care that engages the patient in their recovery and sets the stage for a higher quality of life through optimal movement.

 

Ron graduated with honors receiving a Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy with a minor in biology from Daemen College, and went on to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Boston University. His work experience has been in both the hospital and outpatient settings. Beyond his traditional education, he has taken graduate course work in exercise physiology, and biomechanics. Ron is a diplomat of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in both orthopaedic and geriatric physical therapy. He is also Certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, which is the credentialing program for the McKenzie approach to the spine. Ron is a member of the Orthopaedic section of the APTA, NYPTA and Physical Therapy Alliance of Upstate New York (PTAUNY). 

 

Beyond his clinical practice, Ron is an adjunct professor in the physical therapy department at Nazareth College and has been involved in research on lower back pain. He was the co-investigator and recipient of a grant from the New York Physical Therapy Association for this work. Some of their findings have been presented at both the state and national levels.  

 

Ron loves sports and enjoys running, golf and all forms of exercise.

Sherry received her clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Nazareth College where she is currently an adjunct professor. She also holds a Master of Science degree in education and is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. Sherry has taught yoga classes at various studios in the Rochester area, as well as for local sports teams, running camps at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, and on stand up paddleboards in Irondequoit Bay. Sherry takes a patient focused approach to rehabilitation allowing the patient’s needs and goals to guide the plan of care. She also feels it is important to treat not just the injury or problem that patients are seeking help with, but also to help them become more active and enjoy life fully. Sherry enjoys time with her family, running, and coaching learn-to-run programs through Medved Running & Walking Outfitters.
